Stone Cross
Possibly the stone in the name is a stone cross which is convenient to an old route across this townland. (p ) The tradition is that when coffins were being carried down from the mountain for burial, the cortege would stop here for prayers and lamentations. Where exactly this burial ground was has been lost. The route came on down through Drumbroughas townland.
